Milan, 25 May 2019 – Yesterday, 24 May, in the splendid setting of Palazzo Clerici, Milan, an event took place with the theme “Opportunities and fragility of the Italian System in global markets”, organized by the BBV Inoflex Group, with the patronage of Assolombarda, ANIMP, Lombardy Energy Cleantech Cluster (LE2C), the Italian Chamber of Commerce in the United Arab Emirates and Price Waterhouse Cooper.

The event attracted an extensive and qualified participation by Italian and foreign companies and associations that had wide range for B2B meetings.
The institutional greetings of Vittorio Biondi, Director of the Industrial Policies and Competitiveness Sector of the Assolombarda Territory and Luca Donelli, President of LE2C, were followed by technical reports.

Sergio Perego, Country Manager of Synertrade Italy S.r.l., with the report “Which approach to purchasing? In search of values”, discussed the rapid and profound evolution of the procurement world approach, which has shifted from an almost exclusive attention on cost control to a more careful search for the satisfaction of customer needs.

Angelo Di Tata, Subject Matter Expert in Supply Chain for the Oil&Gas business, addressed the theme “Elements of strength and fragility of Italian Suppliers and of the Italian System in the Oil and Gas market”, clearly highlighting how market opportunities are not adequately seized by the Italian entrepreneurial context essentially due to insufficient support from the Country System and, with the exception of a few large industrial groups, to an inadequate structured presence of our companies abroad.

John Shehata, Associate Partner in PwC Tax and Legal Services, with the report “The free trade agreements between Europe and the Gulf Countries. Opportunities and challenges of a common market”, has shown how an well established profession, in the circumstance that the lawyer, must evolve to be concretely supportive to the current needs of the enterprises.

The intervention of the Secretary General of the Italian Chamber of Commerce in the UAE, Mauro Marzocchi, reported on the opportunities for techincal and institutional support that Italian companies wishing to undertake initiatives in the Persian Gulf can take advantage of were represented.

At the end of the meeting, the journalist Sissi Bellomo, from Il Sole 24 Ore, moderated a Round Table with the participation of Antonio Careddu, President of ANIMP, Lorenzo Spadoni, CEO of A2A Calore e Servizi, Maan Cabbad, expert in the Middle East and North Africa Oil&Gas market, Vittorio Biondi and Paolo Bertuzzi, CEO of Turboden S.p.a..
In this context, attention has been paid to the need to strengthen companies in the face of the growing challenges of globalization, that today may require them to present themselves not only as the Italian System but also as the European System.
A key factor in the future, the speakers agreed, will also be the ability to accept the energy transition as an opportunity.
